As an approved CITB Training Provider Network (TPN) member, Proteus Waterproofing can deliver CITB-supported training to eligible roofing contractors. CITB-registered employers may be able to claim funding for up to 50% of the cost of our training courses, making it even more cost-effective to develop workforce skills and competency. Plus, Proteus credit account customers may even be able to recover the cost of their training through our introductory account offer.
We offer hands-on-training on our full range of cold applied liquid waterproofing systems at our fully equipped training centre in Essex. Led by a qualified instructor, our courses equip your team with the practical skills and technical knowledge needed to install Proteus systems.
Meet the trainer – Jim Corleys
Jim’s journey in the roofing industry began at just 16 years old as an apprentice asphalter. He quickly progressed into skilled installation work and later took on the role of contracts manager for two prominent roofing contractors.
Jim joined Proteus Waterproofing as a Technical Manager and Lead Trainer.
Passionate about developing the next generation of skilled roofers, Jim finds real fulfilment in sharing his extensive knowledge and experience with operatives across the industry.
Training Content
Our training days combine practical and theory-based learning covering the installation of the following Proteus systems:
Pro-BW® Plus – including our skid-resistant system for balconies and walkways
Each operative’s practical ability and understanding are assessed throughout the course. Those who successfully meet the required standard will receive a Proteus Approved Installer card, valid for two years, demonstrating their competence to install Proteus Waterproofing® systems.

8am - Introductions, presentation and safety procedures
Morning - Practical units
Lunch – Provided by Proteus
Afternoon – Theory units
Refreshments are provided throughout the day
