Forming part of the Metropolitan Police district, the main roof area of Wembley Police Station was experiencing significant leaks, causing numerous issues for a key operational police station. The lower roof was also leaking, despite being recently renewed by another contractor.
Proteus Waterproofing® was commissioned to provide a new waterproofing system to the main roof. The roof was stripped back to the deck and a new Proteus Ultima Plus felt system installed incorporating Proteus Pro-Them PIR insulation to meet current Building Regulations requirements. The lower roof was overlaid with Proteus Pro-Cold® a cold applied reinforced elastomer liquid ap-plied system. Both system designed to provide long term piece of mind from further roof leaks.
Key Challenges & Solutions
The main challenge was working at a fully operational police station. Well planned coordination for logistics and site visits was required to ensure minimal disruption to the day to day running of the site.
