After the original specification laid outside of the clients modest budget constraints, the design team was able to rework the specification following a site survey. After the site visit, the team had established that the profile metal deck and insulation were in serviceable condition, however the existing felt was ageing and in need of repair. Working alongside the building surveyor, Proteus Pro-Felt® Ultima Plus was specified as an overlay to the existing roof membrane. The solution allowed the issue of a guarentee whilst remaining within budget for the client.

Safety and compliance

Since the roof was repairable, the felt overlay created a solution to prevent water ingress for the lifetime of the guarantee issued. In this case, the survey revealed that the roof had sufficient insulation for energy efficiency requirements, meaning the cost of thermal upgrades was entirely avoided. Proteus Pro-Felt® Ultima Plus allowed the expected lifespan of the roof to be increased, whilst working closely with our Approved Contractor. The specification was created in accordance with the NRFC Safe2Torch guidelines, helping to create a safer working environment.

Suitable for use in warm roof build-ups or as a standalone waterproofing membrane. Proteus Pro-Felt® Ultima Plus offers a solution for both new-build and refurbishment projects. Manufactured with distilled bitumen and elsto-plastomeric polymers (APP), the product achjeives BROOF T4 fire safety and is manufactured to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.
