Proteus Waterproofing® was approached to provide an extensive condition report to identify which roof areas were suitable for an overlay system and which ones required removal of the existing build up. The contractor relied on our commitment to conduct regular on-site visits to ensure the systems were installed as per the project specifications.

Key Challenges & Solutions

• Multiple roof areas: This project consisted of 7 roof areas; an extensive condition report showed some areas had significant water saturation and required the existing covering to be stripped and replaced. Other areas were suitable for overlaying with a new waterproofing system.

• Complex roof design: Working with an existing building that had been extended and altered throughout its life gave the project some complex areas that needed to be carefully thought through and resolved. Each complex area, which included existing gutter details, chases into brickwork and height limitations, was individually discussed and resolved using our expertise and high-quality product solutions.

• Roof Lights: The main roof area was 1100 m² which had large roof lights removed and infilled. To allow for better drainage, the falls were adapted and the number of outlets were increased.

Conclusion

All roof areas were completed to a high standard using our Proteus ProFelt® Ultima Plus system incorporating Proteus Pro-Therm PIR insulation. Through our strong relationship with the contractor Leckhampton Roofing Ltd. all elements of the project were discussed and resolved effectively. An FCA approved Insurance Backed Guarantee was provided offering peace of mind for the future.
