The Co-op at Ambleside was suffering from roof leaks caused by the existing felt roof starting to come to the end of its design life. Proteus was asked to survey the property and provide a detailed report identifying the roof defects and offering solutions for long term protective waterproofing.
Key Challenges & Solutions
It was found that a majority of the roof covering was still in a good enough condition to overlay. However, one part of the roof, where water had ingressed, was cored and the existing roof insulation under the felt was found to be saturated. Therefore, the saturated roof area was stripped back to the deck and a new Proteus Pro-Felt®Ultima Plus felt system incorporating Proteus Pro-Therm insulation was installed. The other roof areas were overlaid with Proteus Pro-Felt® Ultima Plus felt only.
Conclusion
Proteus Waterproofing worked closely with its approved contractor to provide the client with a new roof to the highest standards.The works were further supported by a Proteus Guarantee once signed off by Proteus Technical Department.
