The existing roof system had some problem areas which were causing water ingress. Previous repairs had not been able to offer a long-term solution. Proteus Waterproofing® was asked to assess the roof and formulate a plan which would provide a long-term solution to the issues the client was experiencing.

Key Challenges & Solutions

• Multiple roof areas: The substantial 2400 m² roof area consisted of multiple sections requiring different approaches due to varying levels of damage. The design team at Proteus Waterproofing® planned each section individually to meet specific requirements whilst also ensuring that each section would work cohesively across the entire roof.

• Water saturation: Following an inspection by Proteus’ technical team, some areas of the existing roof build ups were found to be suffering from water saturation beneath the roof coverings. These areas required the existing materials to be fully stripped away and a new system put in place. A thermal upgrade was provided using our Proteus Pro-Therm insulation, and Proteus Pro-Felt® Ultima Plus was installed to provide long term waterproofing protection.

Conclusion

Regular visits to site by our technical team ensured that the project progressed efficiently. Guidance was provided by Proteus throughout every stage of the project to ensure all areas of the specification were met. On completion and technical sign-off by Proteus Waterproofing®, a guarantee was put in place to support the project for the future.
