Roof Refurbishment - Stationers’ Hall, London

Stationers’ Hall, a Grade I listed building close to St Paul’s Cathedral, is one of few ancient livery halls remaining in London and home to The Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers.

Product brief:

Proteus Waterproofing was asked to supply a high performance, cold applied system to extend the lifetime of the ageing asphalt roofs, whilst keeping the building’s historic character. Proteus Pro-System® Plus was selected to meet the client’s brief.

Key Requirements: High Performance Waterproofing

Due to the restricted areas where the flat roofs were located, cold installation was essential to avoid the risk of fire. Being a fully reinforced, cold liquid installed membrane, Proteus Pro-System® Plus could be installed as an overlay onto the existing asphalt roof coverings, even in areas where access was limited. It’s low odour and low noise installation made it the perfect solution for keeping disruptions to an absolute minimum. Proteus Waterproofing worked closely with their Approved Contractor to ensure the project was successfully delivered to a very high standard, providing the client with a long-lasting solution.

Key Requirements: Health & Safety

Avoiding the risk of fire and protecting the historic qualities of the building was of utmost importance. As Proteus Pro-System® Plus is cold installed and low odour, it complies to NFRC Safe2Torch and Health and Safety criteria.

Key Requirements: Long Term Performance

Proteus Pro-System® Plus offers a low maintenance, durable waterproofing and protection solution for a range of new build and refurbishment applications. It is cold applied, eliminating the risk of fire and once cured, provides a completely seamless waterproof protection even on complex detailing and has excellent UV stability. Proteus Pro-System® Plus forms a seamless, fully adhered membrane, manufactured in the UK and is BBA Certified.
