Roof Refurbishment – Hampton Wick Primary School, Teddington

The roof of Hampton Wick Primary School in Teddington had reached the end of its serviceable life and required a robust and high performance waterproofing solution. With the school looking for a long-term solution and one that would cause minimal disruption to the day-to-day activities of the school, the most viable and economical solution was to have an overlay system, with Proteus Pro-System® extending the life of the roof by a further 20 years.

Product brief:

The existing roof substrate, comprising a felt cap sheet, felt underlay, 100mm PIR insulation and timber deck, was suitable to accept a new overlay system. Proteus Waterproofing was appointed to supply 552m2 of Proteus Pro-System® which was installed by the licensed contractor during the school holiday, offering the school the most cost-effective and least disruptive solution.

Key Requirements: Health and Safety

As Proteus Pro-System® is cold installed, it meets all health and safety criteria to occupied buildings and minimises risk of fire. The low odour application allowed the Proteus licensed contractor to work safely and with minimal disruption to building occupants.

Key Requirements: Seamless waterproofing

With the project requiring a seamless membrane, Proteus Waterproofing worked in close partnership with the licensed contractor to successfully deliver the waterproofing application to a very high standard.

Key Requirements: Long term performance
