Roof Refurbishment – Carlisle Infant School, Hampton

Carlisle Infant school in Middlesex, the roofs of the main teaching blocks were reaching the end of their serviceable life and required a comprehensive refurbishment. Following a site survey of the existing felt on the two buildings at the school, built in the 70s and 90s, it was determined that an overlay system was the most viable option.

Working with the licensed contractor, Proteus Waterproofing supplied 425m2 of its high-performance Proteus Pro-Felt® Endura single layer cap sheet, a fully-bonded solution. This required no mechanical fixing and would provide a long-term solution and a safe, efficient application. On completion the new waterproofing membrane was supported by a 20-year guarantee.

The build-up of the existing roof system, comprising a Felt Cap sheet, Felt Underlay, 50mm PIR Insulation and a Cement faced Woodwool deck, formed a suitable substrate to accept a new overlay system. Proteus Pro-Felt® is engineered with the most advanced technology in bituminous membranes available. It has class-leading SBS content which allows the flexible membrane to move with the building and ensure long term durability and performance.
