We were asked to carry out inspections of all roof areas and put forward recommendations for long term waterproofing solutions.

Key Challenges & Solutions
•    Minimal disruption: Due to the building works taking place during school term time, the project required minimal disruption to the pupils’ studies and staff working environment. The Proteus Pro-Felt® Endura system provided by Proteus Waterproofing® overcame this challenge, allowing the school to operate normally.
•    Budget requirements: Due to previous repair costs, the budget available for the works was tight. The Proteus offer meant we were able to keep the project on budget whilst still providing a waterproofing finish that met the project requirements.
•    Challenging details: There were numerous obstacles across the roof including clerestory windows, heat pump pipework, rooflights and vents – all of which required specific details to provide sufficient termination. Using our experience and knowledge, we provided suitable options including the use of our Pro-BW® Plus system for terminating around pipes penetrating through upstands and vertically around vents. Regular site visits by our technicians ensured that all terminations were carried out correctly.

Conclusion
Proteus Waterproofing® provided a long-term insulation and waterproofing solution. The project was delivered with minimal disruption to the school’s working environment, whilst adhering to their tight budget and meeting the projects requirements.
