+44 (0)1268 777871Located in Wimbledon, southwest London, The Priory Church of England Primary School required the expertise of Proteus Waterproofing, which was asked to carry out inspections of all roof areas and put forward recommendations for the waterproofing of the school's roofs - supported by a guarantee for the completed works.
KEY CHALLENGES
A roof crowded with obstacles
There were numerous obstacles across the roof, including clerestory windows, heat pump pipework, rooflights and vents - all of which required specific details to provide sufficient termination. Drawing on its experience, Proteus Waterproofing provided suitable options, including the use of the Pro-BW@ Plus system for terminating around pipes penetrating through upstands and vertically around vents. Regular site visits by the technicians ensured all of the terminations were carried out correctly.
Term time works below
With the works taking place during term time, disruption to the pupils' studies and the staff working environment had to be kept to a minimum. The works were planned around the school day, allowing the school to operate normally throughout.
A budget tightened by previous repairs
Due to the cost of previous repairs, the budget available was tight. The Proteus Waterproofing offer kept the project on budget whilst still providing a finish that met its requirements.
CONCLUSION
Proteus Waterproofing provided a new insulation and waterproofing build up for the school, delivered with disruption to the working environment kept to a minimum, whilst adhering to the tight budget and meeting the project's requirements - with the completed roofs supported by the issue of a guarantee for the future.
