Maggie Centre, Royal Marsden

Proteus Waterproofing had been contacted by the main contractor to work on this project due to its complexity.

Product brief:

The Waterproofing was going to be exposed for a period of time before the terracotta rain screen cladding was added to the building.

Why use Proteus Waterproofing?:

Proteus Waterproofing had previously worked with the main contractor on projects such as Great Ormond Street Hospital, Battersea Dogs and Cats home and many other well known projects. After completing these projects and creating some great working relationships, some of the team from these projects moved into special projects team within their organisation and they approached us to support the design team at the early stages of this project.

Key Requirements: Design

Working close with the design team who ensured the rain screen cladding fixings and waterproofing would work together and keep the building watertight until the cladding was installed. Proteus decided that our Pro System Plus® together with Proteus Pro-Therm® Thermal Protection Board was the right solution for this project, as the roof was going to be open to the elements for some time before the rain screen cladding was fixed to the building.

Key Requirements: Long Term Performance

Proteus Pro-System® Plus offed a low maintenance, durable waterproofing and protection solution for this unique building. It is cold applied, eliminating the risk of fire and once cured, provides a completely seamless waterproof protection and has excellent UV stability, making it suitable to be exposed before the cladding installation. Proteus Pro-System® Plus forms a seamless, fully adhered membrane and is BBA Certified.
