As part of an on-going, planned flat roofs refurbishment, the Hotel flat roofs existing, ageing coverings were found to be in various state of deterioration. Following surveys by Proteus Waterproofing, some of the flat roofs were assessed to be still suitable to be overlaid, some had aged beyond economic recovery, requiring removal. Proteus Waterproofing were asked to design and supply a high-performance replacement, selecting the most suitable roof system from its wide range, for each roof.
This phase required:
• One roof to be overlaid
• One roof to be stripped back and upgrading the roof deck by over-decking with new 18mm plywood.
Once prepared, both roofs received the new Proteus Pro-Felt® Ultima Plus Built Up Roof system with Proteus Pro-Therm Insulation PIR to deliver the required performance to comply with Building Regulations Part L and BS 6229:2018.
