+44 (0)1268 777871Proteus were asked to conduct a site survey to determine the condition and integrity of the roof for this residential block of flats.
Project brief
After being contacted, a site survey was conducted to establish the works necessary to refurbish the roof. Core samples were taken which confimred that the existing insulation was not thick enough to meet the necessary thermal efficiency standards. The survey also concluded that the waterproofing had failed, meaning water ingress had penetrated the current insulation. This required the roof to be stripped to the timber deck and an entirely new system needed to be installed. Due to the condition of the roof, and the requirement for both wateproofing and insulation, both Proteus Pro-Therm and Proteus Pro-Felt® Ultima Plus were specified to provide a solution.
Safety and compliance
Once the deck was checked and deemed suitable to carry the load of the works, a new Proteus Pro-Felt® built up system was installed, which consisted of Pro-Prime® SA to accommodate the timber substrate. In residential buildings fire safety is an important consideration, Proteus' specification was written considering the NFRC's Safe2Torch guidelines, helping to limit risks during application.
