Project Overview
Proteus Waterproofing® was specified to provide a waterproofing system aligned with the performance requirements of a new build project. This required a warm roof cut to falls application with a waterproofing system which would provide long term protection.
Key Challenges & Solutions
-
Tight Timescale: Due to the school setting, minimal disruption and a quick turnaround were required. Regular site visits by our technicians to ensure a smooth and efficient process meant the project was completed within a few months.
-
Complex Details: In areas around the outlet chutes, sumps were formed to ensure water would run directly into the outlets preventing pooling across the wider roof area. Due to height restrictions under the upstands, areas around the sumps were unable to have the desired insulation thickness. Therefore, hard edge detailing was installed to protect the insulation from changes in temperature levels, reducing the risk of cold bridging problems. The falls in the Proteus Pro-Therm PIR insulation were expertly designed by our in-house design team.
Conclusion
Proteus Waterproofing® provided a tapered roof design in conjunction with our Proteus Pro-Felt® Ultima Plus waterproofing system. The works were completed within the timescale agreed, and a competitive guarantee for the works was provided.
