Core samples showed that the roof was suffering from condensation due to a lack of insulation above the roof deck. Because of this, the existing roof coverings were not suitable to receive an overlay system. Therefore, our dedicated technical team formulated a plan which would provide a new thermal and waterproofing system.
Key Challenges & Solutions
• Budgetary constraints: A cost-effective and durable solution was required by the client, so we designed a suitable scheme to fit within the specified budget.
• Inadequate falls: Some of the roof areas had inadequate drainage falls. Our technical team designed a cut-to-falls tapered insulation scheme in these areas to improve the roof drainage, and to conform with Building Regulation Part L for thermal performance.
Conclusion Regular site visits by our technical team, as well as exemplary workmanship, ensured that the project progressed efficiently. Guidance was provided by Proteus throughout every stage of the project to ensure all areas of the specification were met.
