Project overview:
The protective coating to the pitched metal roof was coming to the end of its life, thinning and peeling away from the metal sheet. The associated metal box gutters also needed attention. Due to the building being used as a leisure facility for the public, the incoming new tenants wanted to extend the roof and guttering’s lifespans without the need to strip the roof and start again.
A long term, protective, durable, cold applied liquid overlay was required to extend the life of the sheet and gutters.
Proteus Waterproofing’s solution:
Proteus Waterproofing specified Pro-Cold, a cold applied protective polyurethane coating that is ideal for metal roof sheets and metal gutters due to its high level of adhesion and long design life.
For speed of application and to provide the best aesthetic finish, the roofs were spray applied. This also ensured fast installation.
Support and collaboration:
Proteus’ technical team visited the site periodically to ensure the installation was completed in line with the bespoke Proteus Waterproofing specification for the project. Random wet and dry film tests were carried out to ensure the correct coverage was achieved.
On completion, Proteus’ technical team checked and signed off the works and a 20-year Proteus Guarantee was then issued to the building owners.
