Proteus Pro-System®
Arundel House, Hackney, a residential building with a felt membrane that was reaching the end of its life. A refurbishment rather than complete renewal was requested.
Product brief:
The roof on all four sides abutted a pitched roof and a rounded ridge tile. The tiles could not be taken off and detailing correctly to the underside would have broken a lot of tiles and not provided a termination for the 20 year life the rest of the system was to provide. Therefore the tiles were cleaned, mortar joints repointed and the tiles then sealed with Cold Melt DPM Primer prior to being encapsulated Proteus Pro-System® this extended the lifespan of the roof for another 20 years.
Key Requirements: High Performance Waterproofing
Following preparation, the existing felt membrane still formed a suitable surface to receive an overlay. Proteus Pro-System® provided a fully reinforced, low maintenance roof covering. As an overlay noise disturbance was kept to a minimum. Proteus Waterproofing worked closely with the Proteus Approved Contractor, to ensure the project was completed to a high standard.

When working on occupied buildings, particularly near residential flats, safety is always of utmost importance. Proteus Waterproofing’s liquid applied systems are cold installed and therefore remove the risk of fire to the building. The low odour application allowed the Proteus Approved Contractor to complete the work safely, meeting all health and safety criteria.
